Crazy Night In Emergency

Yesterday was a long day. Everyone who has a toddler knows that they are always falling and sometimes you don't catch them. Well, yesterday my sweet baby girl was active as always and took a bad fall. She decided to jump on our bed and have a little fun. Our bed is fairly high off the ground. As I'm telling her to get down she decides she is going to take a swan dive off the bed on to our hardwood floors. Ouch!!!! She cried for about an hour and then I finally got her settled down. She injured her left wrist. I really wasn't concerned until it started swelling up like a balloon. Then I started to worry. I called the hubby at work and told him I was going to take her into emergency. So he met me there about an hour later. This was at 6:30 pm. By 9:30 pm the doctor has come to the conclusion that she ended up fracturing her left wrist. They called it a green stick fracture. They compared it to bending a stick that never actually snaps and just has a bubble from being bent. She is now in a cast for 3 weeks. Last night was a long night. She got up crying about three times and the rest of the night she moaned. I got up each time and gave her some Tylenol but I'm not sure how much it's helping the pain. I can't tell you how tired I am right now. YUCK!!!! I feel so bad that she got hurt. I wish I could of caught her. I have to call today and make an appointment to see an orthopedic surgeon for next week. The next few weeks should be really interesting with her wearing this cast. I have no idea how I'm going to give her a bath. I guess I'll just stick a plastic bag on her arm. Wish me luck!
