I got a chance this morning to watch the inauguration of our 44th president, Barack Obama. I almost can't put into words the whirl wind of emotions that were coursing through my soul, as I sat and watch this historic event take place. Hope, pride, excitement, peace and joy. Even though I was sitting on my own couch watching this amazing event take place, you could feel the hope and excitement radiating from the crowd of supporters. Watching this literally brought tears to my eyes. I never thought I'd see in my life time an African American elected into office of the president of the United States of America. I feel Americans have excelled to new heights by not judging a person by their skin color, religion or sex, but instead electing the person who would make the best decisions for our country. We sure could use some good things in our country right about now. Don't you think? Don't you think it's time for some hope and change in this great country of ours. I sure do. Cheers to you President Obama!
Thanks so much for taking time to stop by my little place on the web.

I still haven't watched cause I was gone. I am just enjoying the coverage now.
ReplyDeleteI really do hope that he is able to live up to the hype! Those pedastals can be a long way down if you were to fall off of it! I am excited to see what the future holds!
ReplyDeleteI also watched from home but with emotion so thick I felt like I was there in DC!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great day to be alive!
I've been glued to the television all day long! It's a wonderful day for sure ;--)
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
I couldn't agree with you more--just thinking about this monumental day brings tears to my eyes. My daughter, who watched the entire inauguration coverage with me, asked, "Why are you crying, Mama? Are you just so happy that Barrack Obama is our President?" Yep!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, what a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteI am not an American but I felt so overwhelmed with emotions when I was watching it as well. He is the change that we all need! Goodluck to him!
ReplyDeleteCongtaulations to you and your fellow Americans! He will be a great leader :)
ReplyDeletei will be waitin to see what he can do about Iraq and Palestine. just hope he will do much better than Bush.
ReplyDeleteI also got to watch a portion of his inaugural speech earlier. America made history indeed! May GOD grant President Obama the wisdom to lead the most powerful country in the globe & to quote him "God bless the United States of America."
ReplyDeleteSuch a great day yesterday! It won't be easy for him and it won't happen right away, but I am hopeful for what Obama stands for as our new President.
ReplyDeleteI guess we will see! I don't feel the change yet!!!! But I have heard we will not see any till the end of 2010. That sure is a long ways away.
ReplyDeleteNot being racist I can't believe how many times people are saying "the first Black President". I see the man first and the color only as an identifying feature, as in a blue eyed 6'4" man. I too am looking to see a change for our country. It's time for Americans to stand up and proclaim what our country was founded on. Now that we have a President that has a high approval rating right from the get go and we have a strong party affiliation in the House and Senate there should be no excuses for us not to have a quick turnaround. I'm anxiously looking forward to good things coming.
