Let me start at the beginning and tell you how and why I fell in love with all the Mrs. Dash seasoning blends. About five years ago my hubby was diagnosed with having high blood pressure. At the time he was only 29 years old. High blood pressure and 29 years of age was not a good combination. In fact, it was so serious that the doctor was afraid he would have a stroke. Our doctor was ready to put him on medication to control the blood pressure. Of course, the hubby didn't want anything to do with medications. I have to be honest, I really thought there for a while that I might lose him to a stroke. I was terrified, yet determined to help him lower his blood pressure. The doctor stated that if he could change his eating habits to a low fat and low sodium diet the blood pressure might come down. So, that's exactly what we did. I started cooking low sodium and low fat meals. That's how Mrs. Dash came into play so many years ago. I had to find something to spice up my meals. I couldn't' use anything that had a high sodium or fat content. I came across Mrs. Dash and was so excited to have found something I could cook with that was all natural, salt free and contained no MSG. It was like hitting the jack pot.
Now Mrs. Dash has this new flavorful blend out called Fiesta Lime. Doesn't that sound yummy? I used it last night when I made baked chicken breast for dinner. It was so delicious. Mrs. Dash Fiesta Lime has a blend of sweet chili pepper, cumin, paprika, cayenne and other spices. I just love this spice blend. It gives a Mexican taste to my meals, which the hubby completely enjoys. He's a huge fan of Mexican food. The hubby and I have plans to make our own salsa this fall after our tomatoes in our garden have ripened. I'm going to make sure and add the fiesta lime seasoning to my salsa blend. I'm so in love with the Mrs. Dash spice line that I have every variety in my spice rack. Yes, I'm a fanatic about Mrs. Dash Seasoning Blends.
Eating healthier has really made a big impact in our life's. It's been five years now and my hubby's high blood pressure is under control without the use of medications, and I have Mrs. Dash to thank partly for his recovery. So, thanks Mrs. Dash!
Thanks so much for taking time to stop by my place today.
