My Favorite 80's Classic Movie

If you were a preteen or a teenager in the 80's then you'll remember all those fun 80's movies. These movies stared the young actors who were also known as the brat pack of the 80's. These actors included Rob Lowe, Andrew McCarthy, Ally Sheedy, Molly Ringwald, Judd Nelson, James Spader, Emilio Estevez, Demi Moore and Robert Downey, Jr. and many others who were the hottest actors on the big screen. My all time favorite movie of the 80's was St. Elmo's Fire which was released in 1985. It was about a group of friends who have just graduated from college and are experiencing the real world for the first time without the security of college surrounding them. You go on a journey with them experiencing their ups and downs of life. I just love this movie. I'll never pass up an opportunity to watch it on TV or rent the video for the night. I guess as a young adult in the 80's I could relate to what these people were going through in life. It's a fantastic film. Speaking of 80's flicks, I just found out that WarGames is playing at select theaters nationwide on July 24th in honor of the 25th anniversary of the film. There will also be a showing of never before seen interviews with the creators and actors of War Games. Plus you can get a sneak peak into the upcoming sequel to War Games called War Games: The Dead Code. The original War Games stars Matthew Broderick who plays a computer hacker who accidentally hacks into the US military war computer. He has no idea that he is playing a realistic war game and boy does he get in some serious trouble. This was another fantastic 80's movie. So if you're looking for something to do on July 24th go and check out the showing of War Games. You won't be disappointed.

  1. That's a pretty cool way to celebrate the 25th anniversary. Can you believe I've never seen the whole movie before?
