My 20 Year High School Reunion

I finally attended my 20 year high school class reunion this past Saturday. It was all put together through Classmates.com. I thought that was a great idea to find old classmates and put together the reunion. Wow, I can't even begin to explain how weird it was to reconnect with all these old high school friends. It just blew my mind. This was my first reunion that I attended. I really haven't seen these people in 2o years. I had an amazing time and really enjoyed talking to all my old friends. It's funny how the high school clicks come back into play again. The jocks were hanging with the jocks and the burnouts were hanging with the burnouts. I guess back 20 years ago I would be classified as a burnout. LOL. I had several people that remembered me but I just couldn't remember them. I heard that night that our graduating class was 600 plus. How could I possible remember all this people. I was very flattered that they actually remembered me after all these years. Everyone had changed so much. To be frank, everyone looked so old to me. Either they were extremely fat, had wrinkles or had gone baled. I've decided to start using more of that anti wrinkle cream that I'm so obsessed with buying. LOL. I forgot to bring my camera that night, but one of my friends remembered hers. So stay tuned I'll be posting some pictures from the class of 1988 reunion. I'm glad that I decided to go to this fun event. It was so worth it. Though it did make me realize that my years of youth are flying buy fast. It really just seems like yesterday that I graduated from high school. Time is such a bitter sweet thing.

  1. My 40th was this summer, but I was unable to attend since I was out of town. I saw a few pictures and I looked like they had a lot of fun. As a couple we've gone to a few, I think the most fun was my husband's 40th a few years ago. He thinks it's because he had such a small graduating class - about 75. Isn't it funny how we don't notice ourselves getting older, but we can see it in others.

  2. This post hits the mark! My 20-year reunion a few years ago had the same effect on me. It blew me away to watch the old social paradigms come back into play. I learned a lot by just watching.

  4. I did not go to our reunion :( There are some people I'd like to see, but for the most part the ones I clicked with are still in touch so I'm lucky that way :)

  6. Sounds like you had a really great time. I bet is was weird. Did you have name tags on? If so did they have you senior picture on them to help you remember who these people were? My 30 year union will be coming up in 2011. Maybe I'll go.

  8. Your post brings back memories of reunions past … and makes me wonder if I want to see if one is being planned for my 1962 graduating class … hmmm that’s coming up on 37 years. Methinks the last reunion I attended was my 20th. I recall thinking at the time that the men looked better than the women at the 10th, but by the 20th it was the women who looked better than the men. I have heard from a few HS friends recently via the Internet and talked to one on the phone. It could be fun to reconnect.

I dropped by to let you know that I’m celebrating my 1st Blogoversary TODAY at Small Reflections and tomorrow at Sacred Ruminations. How time flies! Hope you’ll drop by if time permits.
    Hugs and blessings,
