Christmas Eve Excitment

Christmas Eve has always been a big day for my family. My mom, sister and I always get together to spend the day together and exchange gifts. I have such warm and wonderful childhood memories of spending Christmas Eve at my grandma's house surrounded by loved ones. Gosh, those years seem like a life time ago. How I hold on to those special memories and long for those happy childhood days again. This year my little sis is making our big Christmas Eve dinner. I'm really looking forward to spending some time with my immediate family. There seems to be new excitement in the air during the holiday season since my little one has come into our family. Watching her amazement and excitement through the holiday season gives me such great joy. Do you have any holidays memories that you hold close to your heart. Happy Holidays to all my blogging buddies out there. Remember to treasure these special family moments.

  1. I think my favorite memory is of Christmas day when everyone would be at my parents house crammed into the tiny living room. There were probably 15 people unwrapping gifts and laughing. Then, of course, there was the food that she would prepare! She LOVED to cook for anyone who would eat! Now that my parents are gone, I miss Christmas like they "used" to be but we are making new traditions. Have a Merry Christmas!

  3. Our family always celebrated on Christmas Eve, too...I have such fond memories of all our immediate family members converging on my Great-Grandmother's house. She always prepared the yummiest feast each year, and when she passed away, my mom took over 'feast duties' for our family. We would open our presents on Christmas Eve, knowing that when we woke up the next day Santa would have made his appearance while we slept.

Like you, there has been 'new' excitement to the air at Christmastime since our Little Princess joined us 6 years ago - it's fun to experience the joy and excitement through her eyes. Brings back lots of warm, wonderful memories, and now I get to carry on my Great-Grandmother's traditions with my daughter. :)

    Merry Christmas!

  4. Merry Christmas! I always think about waffles with bacon inside or with grapenuts instead. They were soo tasty. My husband is a waffle purist. No additions at all. No fun,no fun indeed!

  6. I hope you enjoyed your family gathering at your sister's house. I spent Christmas Eve with friends and am headed to another friend's house at 3pm for Christmas Dinner. I'd share holiday traditions, but alas I have almost no time left and am trying to make up for not doing much blog visiting in the past 3-4 days.
    Hugs and blessings,
