What Do I Buy For A Bridal Shower Gift?

My little sister and her boyfriend have been talking about getting married. Yippie! It's about time. Of course all this talk has the wheels in my head spinning. I know it's a long way off, but it's always good to plan ahead. What should I get her as a shower gift? She has always gotten hand me downs, especially from me. It started when we were kids with my old clothes. My mother never had much money, so we did lots of sharing. She never complains, but takes these used gifts graciously. So I want my wedding gift to be special. She deserves it! I was contemplating on getting her some really nice lingerie. I'm not talking about the cheap lingerie you find at your local store. I want to get her an outfit from one of those swanky boutiques. I'm really looking forward to helping her plan her special day.

  1. I always like charm bracelets. Every year when she celebrates her wedding day you can give her a charm!

This way you can charm her marriage!

  2. Be a good sis and buy her everything on her registry lol. Okay maybe not, I was at a shower once and the bride's mother had gotten a large box and filled it with matching bras and panties and other assorted lingerie. Cute, but I'm sure it was very expensive. Besides...what new bride wears it anyway lol

  3. At least you have time to save for it. I think you should get her everything she wants. She is your only sister. I sure hope this works out for her. She has been looking for that special someone for a long time.

  5. I like that charm bracelet idea. However, I think a nice nighty is a great idea. It may just be the one she decides to use/wear (?? LOL) the first night of her honeymoon. Good luck to her and her future husband... and have fun sharing this special time with her.

  7. Maybe you should ask her what she really wants. What does she like to do? If she likes to cook Kitchen Aids are nice. My friend told me her family exchanges letters of appreciation for special events. You could write one such letter for your sister. Tell her how important she is to you. Anyway, that's my two cents. Take care.
