The Jane Austen Book Club Movie Review

Rated: PG-13
Run Time: 106 Minutes

Six book club members find their lives resemble a modern-day version of Jane Austen's novels in this drama. Sylvia's (Amy Brenneman) husband of 20-plus years has walked out; Jocelyn (Maria Bello) breeds dogs to escape loneliness; Prudie (Emily Blunt) dreams of other men; Bernadette (Kathy Baker) hopes to find Mr. Right; Allegra (Maggie Grace) has issues with her girlfriend; and Grigg (Hugh Dancy), the only man, wonders why he's even in the club.

I have to say I really enjoyed The Jane Austen Book Club. I watched it one night when the hubby was out of town. I don't think he would of enjoyed it very much. It's a chic flick. I thought it very humorous, the acting was fantastic and the plot was great. I would definityl recommend this movie to a friend. I have seen many of the movies that were based on jane Austin books, but really never new much about the author. I think I actually learned something from this movie about Jane Austin her self. It's sparked my interests in her books. I think I might go rent one from the library. I'm going to give this movie 4 stars out of a 5 star rating.
