Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!

Did you notice the new picture on Google this morning? It's in honor of the birthday of Theodore Geisel, or Dr. Seuss. Dr. Seuss would of been 105 years old today. As a child I remember being whisked away into the fantasy land of Dr. Seuss. It made learning numbers, letters and rhyming exciting for me as a child. I'm all grown up now and still love the many books of Dr. Seuss. Of course my all time favorite is Horton Hears a Who. I enjoying reading these books to my four year old and reliving my childhood. I remember my parents reading these same very books to me 35 plus years ago. My little one also has a passion for these wonderful books. Today, in honor of Theodore Geisel's birthday, my daughter's preschool class made Green Eggs and Ham this morning. I thought it was the cuties idea. Of course my little one told me she doesn't like Green Eggs and Ham Sam I am. In honor of this amazing author and his wonderful series of children's books pick up a Dr. Seuss book and spend some time reading to your kids tonight. Happy 105th Birthday Dr. Seuss! Thanks for the many years of enjoyment.

Hugs

  1. I too love Dr.Zeus stories. I have at least 5. There's only one thing. I dont like his illustrations. They totally creep me out. His text is incredible and I have all the books that he has not drawn for. I guess I can't be a true fan then... :(
Ten Apples up on Top may be our favorite right now.

  3. My kids' school always does great activities for Dr. Seuss' birthday. Unfortunately, everyone missed it yesterday because we had a snow day. Hopefully everything will be rescheduled.

  4. Hop over to Penniwig's for a selection of buttons. She had quite a few. Just use the link on my post. Maybe this will start something new.

  5. Horton Hears a Who is my favorite too. My dh was quick to use our kids as an excuse to pick up every Seuss book from his own childhood. I picked up a couple of later books, but our collection still isn't complete.

  7. Our local elementary was supposed to serve Green Eggs and Ham, but they apparently reneged on the green part.

My favorite Dr. Seuss was Yertle the Turtle. I even had a stuffed Yertle who looked like the pictures in the book. He talked when you pulled a string. I LOVED him.

  10. Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss! I read his books to my kids all the time. Ciara's favorite is the Sleep Book.We read that before bed nearly every night. Did you have your green eggs and ham for breakfast? A local Children's hospital did that for the kids. They also read Dr. Seuss books to them all day and the kids got to meet the Cat in the Hat and the Sneeches.
