Michigan Renaissance Festival

This past Sunday we had our yearly visit to the Michigan Renaissance Festival. As young children my mother introduced my sister and I to this wildly unique and some what strange fair. The extreme strangeness is what I love about this festival. I love the smells of the incense and oils that wander through the air. There is so much going on at once. Vendors screaming to get your attention, the fantastic sound of the Renaissance music traveling through the park, children laughing as they ride the pony's and the amusement rides. You completely feel like you were transported back to Renaissance times. I think it's so amazing how everyone dresses up to celebrate this fun occasion. I've decided that I would like to buy my husband and myself outfits to dress up each and every year we visit. Though it's a little pricey. This will have to be one want that I'll have to add to my bucket list.

Our little one on a pony ride

If you stop buy for a visit you must try their famous pickles.

My little sis and her friend

The hubby, sister and my baby.

Of course we had to check out the jousting. This is some amazing stuff.

My little one wanted to ride this crazy looking rubber band ride. Mommy was scared but my little one had the time of her life. The kid has no fear.

  2. Look like you had a lot of fun! I went to one in TN and just found it creepy. I guess they just aren't for me.

  3. That is awesome - I would love to see jousting for real. I didn't think that there were still events like these today.

  5. Harmony has one of the outfits that she used to wear when she went there. Of course, she has the body to go with it...do we hate her? No.
